Crohn’s & Colitis Week 2017

Please join us in observing Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week 2017!

Living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis is a journey. From diagnosis and treatment to advocacy, support, and beyond, there are so many twists and turns along the road for patients and caregivers, and no one journey is identical.

Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week was created by U,S. Senate Resolution 199, “A resolution supporting the goals and ideals of Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week, December 1-7.” S. Res. 199 expresses appreciation to the family members and caregivers who support people in the United States living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. It also commends health care professionals who care for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis patients and biomedical researchers who work to advance research aimed at developing new treatments. Most of all, Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week is designed to bring together the IBD community around a shared goal-to raise awareness and educate the public about IBD as part of our mission to see a future free of Crohn’s and colitis.

If you are a fellow Crohnie, Use #myIBD to help show there’s no one-size-fits-all Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, and there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to life with IBD. While IBD patients may look healthy, internally they may be suffering. The toll IBD takes on patients often lies hidden underneath, and is different for each individual. Take action with us, and YOU can make #IBDvisible by helping show one of the many ways IBD affects patients nationwide.

What are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis?

Let’s stand together and bring more awareness to IBD than ever before. By taking any of the actions below, we can use #myIBD to educate others for better understanding, and strengthen our fight to find cures for Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.
